China’s EHANG V2000CG Obtains Indonesian CAAS VTC Type Certification, Realizing First Full Overseas Airworthiness Access for Domestic eVTOLs

In June 2026, the V2000CG, a large domestic cargo eVTOL developed by China’s EHANG Fengfei, successfully obtained the Vehicle Type Certificate (VTC) issued by Indonesia’s Civil Aviation Authority. This marks the first full overseas sovereign civil aviation comprehensive certification of China’s manned and cargo eVTOL aircraft, a milestone breakthrough for China’s low-altitude equipment export and domestic airworthiness standard globalization, breaking the long-term monopoly of European and American enterprises over global low-altitude airworthiness systems. For decades, global eVTOL airworthiness discourse power has been dominated by the U.S. FAA and European EASA. Strict certification and technical standard barriers have hindered the overseas expansion of Chinese low-altitude aircraft, limiting most domestic models to domestic pilot operations and blocking access to mainstream international markets. The full type certification of V2000CG by Indonesian civil aviation authorities verifies that the aircraft’s design standards, technical parameters, safety performance, and quality management system fully meet overseas regulatory requirements, granting it legal commercial operation qualifications across Indonesia. As a heavy-duty cargo eVTOL, the V2000CG features large load capacity, stable endurance, strong environmental adaptability, and high safety factors. It perfectly adapts to Indonesia’s geographical characteristics of scattered islands, inconvenient land transportation, and booming cross-border logistics demand, and can be widely applied in island material distribution, cross-border e-commerce logistics, emergency material transportation, and remote area supply missions. This qualification breakthrough opens up formal market access for Chinese low-altitude equipment in Southeast Asia, laying a foundation for large-scale overseas layout and batch export. Industrially, the achievement represents not only the overseas commercial success of a single aircraft model but also the external output of China’s independent low-altitude airworthiness standards.
