France advances manned drone collaborative combat technology

18

According to foreign media reports, France recently announced a plan to develop a new type of unmanned aerial vehicle. The plan is led by French airline Dassault Aviation and further developed on the basis of the "neuron" unmanned aerial vehicle.

Dassault Systemes stated that this new drone adopts autonomous control technology and has multifunctional features that can be improved according to future combat needs, but did not provide more information on related performance and combat tasks.

According to reports, the new drone will serve as an unmanned wingman for the "Rafale F5" fighter jet and engage in "coordinated combat" with the aircraft. The Rafale F5 is the next generation fighter jet under development in France, with research work starting in 2023. In the future, the main mission of this aircraft will include suppressing and destroying enemy air defense systems. The new type of unmanned aerial vehicle and its coordinated operation will greatly improve combat efficiency. In addition, the aircraft will also be equipped with the 4th generation hypersonic air to ground nuclear missile.

At present, Dassault Aviation has not announced the design of the aircraft. Considering that it will be developed on the basis of the "neuron" unmanned aerial vehicle, the aircraft will have certain stealth capabilities.
