The recently released report on the development trend of low altitude economy predicts that by 2030, China's drone industry will be the first to achieve a trillion yuan scale.

On the same day, the second Global Low Altitude Economy Forum Spring Meeting with the theme of "Redefining Urban Transportation with Low Altitude Economy" was held in Beijing, and the report was released by the China Low Altitude Economy Alliance at the meeting.

The low altitude economy has a significant driving effect on the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries, with strong radiation capabilities and high technological content. Currently, various regions are accelerating the planning and construction of low altitude supporting infrastructure.

Luo Jun, Chairman of the China Low altitude Economic Alliance, pointed out that the current planned and constructed air traffic command platforms and ground flight service platforms in various regions lack unified industry standards, which may not meet the future high-frequency and normalized flight support needs, and may not be interconnected.

In this regard, the report suggests accelerating the standard formulation of a national low altitude transportation network, promoting the construction of a national low altitude transportation network, and ensuring interconnectivity.

The report also predicts that from the second half of this year, eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft) will conduct frequent test flights in limited airspace. By 2027, some mega center cities and provincial capitals will be able to achieve the commercialization of eVTOL and achieve the goal of "flying". Luo Jun mentioned that by 2030, eVTOL will be rapidly popularized and promoted in major cities, and gradually enter thousands of households.

Regarding the positioning and development of drones, Luo Jun stated that in the future, the integration of drones and AI will be even closer. The report also pointed out that China is a major country in the field of drones, but mainly consumer grade drones. Currently, drones are transitioning from consumer grade to large, medium, and functional models, with each sub segment reaching billions of dollars.

When it comes to how to develop low altitude economy in various regions, Luo Jun suggests that top-level design should be done first. While identifying their own comparative advantages, priority should be given to improving infrastructure and supporting facilities, and then gradually expanding the application market to drive industrial development through the application end.
